The Bachelor of Secretarial & Administrative Studies program is designed to provide students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in administrative roles across various industries. This program combines theoretical knowledge with practical training to develop competent professionals who can effectively manage office operations, coordinate administrative tasks, and support organizational efficiency.
UCE and UACE Certificates with 2 Principle passes, or Diploma from a recognized Institution of Higher Learning in a relevant discipline.
Prospective applicants whose final high school grades are in percentages and average points system e.g. Sudan, DRC, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia and others must have their grades first equated or standardized by Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) before admission to YMCA Comprehensive Institute.
Kenyan applicants for degree programmes should hold either;
The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) holders must have a minimum Grade of C+ and above, OR
The Kenyan Advanced Certificate of Education “GCE or A-levels” applicants must have at least 2 principal passes or its equivalent.
Practical Skill Development: The program places a strong emphasis on practical skill development to ensure students are well-equipped to handle real-world administrative tasks. Students receive hands-on training in office procedures, document preparation, data management, scheduling, event coordination, and customer service.
Specialized Knowledge: Alongside general administrative skills, students gain specialized knowledge in areas such as business communication, office technology, record management, and organizational behavior. This enables them to perform effectively in various administrative roles within different industries.
Technological Proficiency: The program incorporates training on the latest office technologies and computer applications commonly used in administrative settings. Students develop proficiency in software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, database management, and presentation tools.
Internship Opportunities: The program may provide internship opportunities in partnership with local organizations, enabling students to gain practical experience in a professional work environment. Internships offer valuable networking opportunities and help students bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world applications.
Professional Development: The program fosters the development of professional skills necessary for success in administrative roles. Students learn effective communication, problem-solving, time management, and teamwork skills. They also develop a strong work ethic, professionalism, and a customer-oriented mindset.

A UGX 20,000 NCHE Fee is paid annually and directly to the National Council for Higher Education by the applicant upon enrolment.
Hostel accommodation for male and female students is available at Buwambo Campus at a fee of UGX 550,000 per quarter (Inclusive of accommodation and meals).
All students in the hostel will be required to bring toiletries.
