A Certificate in Industrial Art & Design is a program designed to provide students with foundational knowledge and skills in the field of industrial design. This certificate program typically covers a range of subjects related to design principles, product development, technical skills, and creative problem-solving.
“O” level with at least (5) five passes English Language and Fine Art.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS

Design Principles: Students gain an understanding of design principles and elements, including color theory, composition, balance, and proportion. They learn how to apply these principles to create visually appealing and functional designs.
Product Development Process: The program covers the product development lifecycle, including research, ideation, concept development, prototyping, and final production. Students learn about market analysis, user-centered design, and iterative design processes.
Technical Skills: Students gain technical skills necessary for industrial design, such as sketching, rendering, and 2D/3D modeling. They learn to use design software and tools, including computer-aided design (CAD) software, for creating digital designs and prototypes.
Materials and Manufacturing Processes: The certificate program explores different materials used in industrial design and manufacturing processes. Students learn about their properties, applications, and considerations for material selection. They gain an understanding of manufacturing techniques and production constraints.
Design Research and Analysis: Students learn research methods and techniques for gathering user insights, market trends, and competitive analysis. They gain skills in conducting design research, analyzing data, and translating findings into design solutions.

NOTE:
A UGX 20,000 NCHE Fee is paid annually and directly to the National Council for Higher Education by the applicant upon enrolment.
Hostel accommodation for male and female students is available at Buwambo Campus at a fee of UGX 550,000 per quarter (Inclusive of accommodation and meals).
All students in the hostel will be required to bring toiletries.
