A Certificate in Secretarial Studies is a program designed to provide students with foundational knowledge and skills in secretarial and administrative tasks. This certificate program typically covers a range of subjects related to office procedures, communication skills, record keeping, and basic computer applications.
‘O’ Level Certificate and above.
Office Procedures: Students learn the essential office procedures and protocols required in administrative roles. They gain an understanding of office etiquette, phone handling, appointment scheduling, and general office organization.
Business Communication: The program emphasizes developing effective communication skills in a professional setting. Students learn to compose professional emails, letters, and memos. They gain skills in interpersonal communication, customer service, and handling inquiries.
Record Keeping and Documentation: Students learn the basics of record keeping and documentation practices. They gain skills in organizing files, maintaining confidentiality, and handling paperwork. Students also learn about data entry and record management using both manual and electronic systems.
Computer Applications: The program introduces students to basic computer applications commonly used in administrative tasks. Students learn to use word processing software to create and format documents. They also gain skills in using spreadsheet applications for basic data analysis and organization.
Time Management and Organizational Skills: The certificate program focuses on developing time management and organizational skills necessary in secretarial roles. Students learn techniques for prioritizing tasks, managing calendars, and handling multiple responsibilities effectively.

NOTE:
A UGX 20,000 NCHE Fee is paid annually and directly to the National Council for Higher Education by the applicant upon enrolment.
Hostel accommodation for male and female students is available at Buwambo Campus at a fee of UGX 550,000 per quarter (Inclusive of accommodation and meals).
All students in the hostel will be required to bring toiletries.
