A Diploma in Fashion & Design provides students with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a career in the fashion industry. The program explores various aspects of fashion, including its history, design principles, and garment construction. Students will learn how to visualize and create garment combinations using elements such as line, proportion, color, and texture
“A”level and above or Certificate in Art & Design or the equivalent.

Introduction to Fashion Design: This module provides an overview of the fashion industry and introduces students to the design process.
History of Fashion Design: Students explore the evolution of fashion throughout history and its influence on contemporary design.
Elements and Principles of Fashion Design: This module focuses on the fundamental elements and principles of design, such as color, shape, and balance, and how they are applied in fashion.
Mood Boards, Design Development, and Sketching: Students learn how to create mood boards to visually communicate their design concepts and develop their sketching skills.
Understanding Textile Fibers, Yarns, and Fabrics: This module covers the characteristics and properties of different textile materials used in fashion design.
Pattern Completion, Garment Constructing, and Draping Techniques: Students learn how to create patterns, construct garments, and drape fabrics to bring their designs to life.

NOTE:
A UGX 20,000 NCHE Fee is paid annually and directly to the National Council for Higher Education by the applicant upon enrolment.
Hostel accommodation for male and female students is available at Buwambo Campus at a fee of UGX 550,000 per quarter (Inclusive of accommodation and meals).
All students in the hostel will be required to bring toiletries.
