A Diploma in Industrial Art provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and techniques involved in the field of industrial art. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, students gain the necessary foundation to pursue a career in various industries such as manufacturing, product design, and visual communication.
“A”level and above or Certificate in Art & Design or the equivalent.

Design Principles: Students learn about the fundamental principles of design, including elements such as line, shape, color, texture, and composition. They develop an understanding of how these elements can be applied to create visually appealing and functional industrial art.
Drawing and Illustration: Drawing is a fundamental skill in industrial art. Students learn various drawing techniques and develop their ability to accurately represent objects, products, and concepts through sketches and illustrations. This skill is crucial for communicating ideas and visualizing designs.
Materials and Processes: Students gain knowledge about different materials used in industrial art, such as metals, plastics, wood, and ceramics. They learn about the properties of these materials and how to select and work with them effectively. Additionally, students explore various manufacturing processes and techniques used in industrial production.
Product Design: This area of study focuses on the process of creating innovative and functional products. Students learn about conceptualization, ideation, prototyping, and product development. They gain skills in translating ideas into tangible products that meet user needs and market demands.
Visual Communication: Effective visual communication is essential in industrial art. Students learn about graphic design principles, typography, branding, and packaging design. They develop skills in creating visually compelling presentations, product labels, and marketing materials.

NOTE:
A UGX 20,000 NCHE Fee is paid annually and directly to the National Council for Higher Education by the applicant upon enrolment.
Hostel accommodation for male and female students is available at Buwambo Campus at a fee of UGX 550,000 per quarter (Inclusive of accommodation and meals).
All students in the hostel will be required to bring toiletries.
