SPECIAL COMMUNICATION TO STUDENTS BEFORE SITTING FOR EXAMS (MONDAY 19TH, OCTOBER 2020-SATURDAY 24TH, OCTOBER 2020)

- All YCI students are expected to respect Ministry of Health SOPs while on Campus i.e. social distancing, wearing a mask all time, sanitizing e.t.c
- All YCI are required to enroll on YCI online/e-learning platform using E-learning guide is as follows: (a) Link: elearning.yci.ac.ug (b) User Name: student No. (c) Password: Registration No. It’s a new form of YCI learning program.
- E-learning is to continue for all classes (after exams)
- Payment for e-learning (Ushs.50,000) is not optional whether you login or not it must be paid by all YCI students
- Payment of Ushs. 50,000 for e-learning is on quarterly/semester basis
- Next quarter schedule is likely to be shorter because 50% of the work to be done to sent on YCI e-learning platform
- Project work/course work sent on YCI e-learning platform will carry 30%
- Dates/schedule for sending work on YCI e-learning platform set as follows:-
- 1st, schedule Mon 2nd, Nov 2020-Friday 6th, Nov 2020
- 2nd, schedule Mon 9th, Nov 2020-Friday 13th, Nov 2020
- 3rd, schedule Mon 16th, Nov 2020-Friday 20th, Nov 2020
- Zoom class schedule Mon 23rd, Nov 2020-Friday 27th, Nov 2020
- Deadline for submission of project work/work set between Monday 30th, November 2020-Wednesday 2nd, December 2020
- Any student who fail to send work through e-learning platform should use departmental email as follows:

- Cosmetology-cosmetology@yci.ac.ug
- Hotel & Institutional Catering-catering@yci.ac.ug
- Computer Science-computerscience@yci.ac.ug
- Electrical, Motor Vehicle, Plumbing-technical@yci.ac.ug
- Fashion &b Design-fashiondesign@yci.ac.ug
- Industrial Art-industrialart@yci.ac.ug
- Tourism, Clearing & forwarding and Project Planning-tourism@yci.ac.ug
- Journalism- journalism@yci.ac.ug
- Guidance and Counseling-gcounselling@yci.ac.ug
- Secretarial & Admin Studies-secretarialstudies@yci.ac.ug
- Degree Program-degree@yci.ac.ug
- Retakes or specials are scheduled for December 2020 examination Period and April 2021 examination period
- YCI students are encouraged to always check e-learning platform for updates as it’s a new method/means of communicating to students
- YCI students are advised/encouraged to advise/inform their parents/guardians/sponsors on the new developments communicated on the e-learning platform
- End of quarter Circular will be sent on the YCI e-learning platform and all students hereby advised to share with their respective parents/guardians
- YCI students are advised/informed to refer to their financial statements on fees charges for next quarter
- Tentative date for re-opening is Mon 11th, January 2021
- Only students with zero balances will be allowed to sit exams
