Since its inception in 1997, the Department of Tourism, Clearing & Travel Management at our institution has been dedicated to providing top-quality education and training in various fields. Over the years, we have expanded our course offerings to meet the evolving needs of the industry, ensuring our students are equipped with the skills and knowledge required for successful careers.

Our department’s journey began with the introduction of the Clearing and Forwarding course in 1997, followed by the Tourism course in 1998. In 2005, we further expanded our offerings with the introduction of the Project Planning course. These courses have become integral parts of our curriculum, providing students with specialized knowledge in their respective fields.

Under the leadership of Mr. Amon Mutebi, our department boasts a team of exceptional lecturers and instructors. Their qualifications and extensive experience bring a wealth of expertise to the classroom, ensuring that our students receive the highest level of education and mentorship.

We offer intakes in January and May for our morning sessions, and in August, we provide both evening and afternoon sessions to accommodate the diverse needs of our students. This flexibility allows individuals to pursue their education at a time that suits their schedules best.

What you'll study

The Department of Tourism, Clearing & Travel Management offers a range of courses at the certificate and diploma levels. Our programs are designed to provide students with comprehensive training and practical skills in their chosen areas of study. Currently, we offer the following courses:

Travel and Tourism Management: This course focuses on developing students’ understanding of the tourism industry, its dynamics, and effective management strategies. Students will gain knowledge in areas such as tour operations, hospitality management, customer service, and destination marketing.

Customs, Clearing and Forwarding: This course equips students with the necessary skills to navigate the complex field of customs procedures and logistics management. Students will learn about international trade regulations, documentation requirements, cargo handling, and supply chain management.

Project Planning and Management: This course provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to successfully plan, execute, and manage projects in various industries. Students will learn about project management methodologies, budgeting, risk assessment, and stakeholder engagement.
