A Certificate in Cosmetology is a program designed to provide students with foundational knowledge and skills in the field of beauty and cosmetic services. This certificate program typically covers a range of subjects related to hair care, skincare, makeup application, and nail care.

O’ level or the equivalent.

Program Highlights

Hair Care and Styling: Students learn essential hair care techniques, including shampooing, conditioning, cutting, coloring, and styling. They gain skills in identifying different hair types and textures, as well as providing appropriate hair care treatments.

Skincare and Esthetics: The program covers basic skincare fundamentals, including skin analysis, cleansing, exfoliation, and facial treatments. Students learn about different skin types, skincare products, and proper techniques for maintaining healthy skin.

Makeup Application: Students learn the art of makeup application for various occasions and clients. They gain knowledge of makeup techniques, color theory, facial contouring, and special effects makeup. Students learn to create different makeup looks and understand hygiene and safety practices.

Nail Care and Artistry: The program covers nail care techniques, including manicures, pedicures, and nail enhancements. Students learn about proper nail shaping, cuticle care, and nail polish application. They gain skills in basic nail artistry, including nail designs and embellishments.

Salon Management and Professionalism: The certificate program emphasizes professionalism and salon management principles. Students learn about client consultations, appointment scheduling, and customer service skills. They gain an understanding of maintaining a clean and safe salon environment.

NOTE:

A UGX 20,000 NCHE Fee is paid annually and directly to the National Council for Higher Education by the applicant upon enrolment.

Hostel accommodation for male and female students is available at Buwambo Campus at a fee of UGX 550,000 per quarter (Inclusive of accommodation and meals).

All students in the hostel will be required to bring toiletries.
