How to Apply

Intakes and Program Offerings

Choose from three intakes throughout the academic year: January, May, and August. Please note that each intake may feature a unique selection of programs.

Institute's New Status

We are thrilled to announce that YMCA Comprehensive Institute has been granted a provisional license by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) to offer Degrees. This elevates our status to an Other Degree Awarding Institute (ODAI), allowing us to introduce Degree programs.

Minimum Requirements

Degree Programs:

Ugandan applicants for Degree programs should meet one of the following criteria:

  1. Possess UCE and UACE Certificates with 2 Principle passes.
  2. Hold a Diploma from a recognized Institution of Higher Learning in a relevant discipline.
Foreign Applicants

Prospective applicants from countries like Sudan, DRC, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia, and others, whose final high school grades are in percentages and average points system, must first have their grades equated or standardized by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) before seeking admission to YMCA Comprehensive Institute.

Kenyan applicants for degree programs should meet one of the following criteria:

  • Hold the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum Grade of C+ and above.
  • Possess the Kenyan Advanced Certificate of Education (GCE or A-levels) with at least 2 principal passes or its equivalent.
Diploma Programs
  • O-Level Certificate.
  • At least one Principal pass at A-level and two subsidiaries.
  • A certificate in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution. 
Certificate Programs
  • O-level certificate with at least 5 passes, including English.
Application for Admission - Degree Programs

You can apply online today by clicking here or pick up Application forms from any of our campuses for a non-refundable fee of Sixty Thousand Uganda Shillings (shs60,000/-). Please return the completed forms, along with the following attachments, to the Academic Registrar’s office:

  • Photocopies of all education certificates and relevant academic documents.
  • Copy of the application fee receipt.
  • Three (3) Passport-size photographs.
Application for Admission - Diploma and Certificate Programs

You can apply online today by clicking here or pick up Application forms from any of our campuses for a non-refundable fee of Sixty Thousand Uganda Shillings (shs60,000/-). Please return the completed forms, along with the following attachments, to the Academic Registrar’s office:
